JI’s Sit-ins Creating New Wave of Public Awareness, Will Insha’Allah Herald Major Change
ISLAMABAD, August 19, 2026 – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Islamabad Ameer Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa has stated that the ongoing sit-ins at the headquarters of all four provinces are becoming centers of public mobilization. He said these protests have generated a new wave of awareness among the masses, with a large number of people joining the struggle for their rights.
In a statement issued from the JI Islamabad office, Randhawa reaffirmed that the party’s core demands include a reduction in petroleum product prices, the abolition of the petroleum levy, a reduction in oppressive taxes, and providing real economic relief to the people.
‘Public Rejecting Further Inflation and Economic Burden’
Randhawa said that these demands are receiving widespread acceptance at the public level. “The growing interest and participation of the people in the sit-ins is clear evidence that the masses are not ready to accept further inflation and economic burden,” he added.
He emphasized that the JI’s sit-ins are not merely protests but a movement to organize and energize the public. “This public mobilization taking place across the country will, Insha’Allah, herald a major change and prepare the ground for a new transformation,” he said.
‘Protest Will Continue Until Demands Are Accepted’
Randhawa called upon the government to listen to the voice of the people and immediately accept the legitimate demands of Jamaat-e-Islami. “The sit-in will continue at all costs until the demands are accepted. The people will only return after getting their demands accepted,” he declared.
The JI Islamabad chief expressed confidence that the peaceful public movement will ultimately succeed in forcing the government to provide relief to the masses.
