A prestigious ceremony was organized in Islamabad under the auspices of Al-Khidmat Foundation to honor the Islamabad Volunteers 2026, which was attended by a large number of volunteers from across the city. The ceremony was addressed by Secretary General of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri; President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Islamabad, Altaf Sher; CEO of Naya Tel, Wahaj Siraj; Rector of FAST University, Professor Dr. Aftab Maroof; and Director of Volunteers Al-Khidmat Islamabad, Muhammad Aamir Nagra. On this occasion, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad, Zubair Safdar; Secretary General of Al-Khidmat Islamabad, Muhammad Tayyab Siddiqui; Vice President Namir Hassan; renowned legal expert Hassan Javed; and other distinguished personalities were also present.
In his address, Secretary General of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri, said that Al-Khidmat Foundation continues its activities across the country with a spirit of public service, and all colleagues and volunteers who support this mission are commendable. He reaffirmed his commitment that this journey of service will be continued with full dedication and consistency. He stated that in the current circumstances, many young people are falling into despair and deviation, including dangerous trends such as drugs and one-wheeling (stunt riding); therefore, positive guidance for the youth is a critical need of the time.
He mentioned that under Al-Khidmat’s “Bano Qabil” program, more than 1.4 million young people have registered, which is a sign of major social change. Furthermore, he said that Al-Khidmat Foundation is promoting collaboration with various national and international institutions to equip youth with modern skills, in order to create opportunities in education, technology, and sports.
Rector of FAST University, Professor Dr. Ahmad Maroof, in his address, said that 150 students of the university have performed voluntary services, which is a welcome development. He said that living for others is true success, and this spirit becomes a means of bringing positive change to society.
President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Islamabad, Altaf Sher, said that Al-Khidmat Foundation is actively working for the welfare, training, and development of youth’s capabilities. Meanwhile, Director of Volunteers, Muhammad Aamir Nagra, said that more than 200 students in Islamabad are serving as volunteers, while students from three different universities participated in the program.
CEO of Naya Tel, Wahaj Siraj, also addressed the ceremony and presented various proposals for promoting public service. At the conclusion of the ceremony, introductory certificates and shields were distributed among the volunteers who demonstrated outstanding performance.
