JI Islamabad Ameer Visits PIMS Hospital, Demands Transparent Inquiry
ISLAMABAD, August 26, 2026 – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Islamabad Ameer Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa has expressed deep grief and concern over the tragic incident at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital, demanding a transparent and impartial inquiry from the government.
Accompanied by JI Pakistan Deputy Ameer Liaqat Baloch, Randhawa visited PIMS Hospital to express condolences to the victims and their families. He also sought details from the hospital administration regarding the incident.
‘Precious Lives Lost Due to Administrative Negligence’
Speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that such a tragic incident at a major government hospital like PIMS is deeply concerning. “Providing treatment and protection to the people is the primary responsibility of the state. Unfortunately, precious human lives were lost due to poor administrative capacity and mismanagement of government institutions,” he said.
He stressed that the incident cannot be dismissed as merely an accident. “It is essential to determine the actual causes of the incident, where the administrative lapses occurred, and why rescue and fire brigade teams could not arrive in time,” he added.
‘High-Level, Impartial Inquiry Demanded’
The JI Islamabad Ameer demanded that a high-level and impartial inquiry be conducted into the incident, that those responsible be identified and prosecuted according to law, and that effective measures be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
‘Government Must Answer the People’
Randhawa stated that the government makes grand claims of good governance and providing best facilities to the people, but the conditions at PIMS are exposing these claims. “Instead of limiting themselves to statements and meetings, the government should take practical steps and answer the people,” he said.
He expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the affected families, assuring that JI stands with them in this hour of grief and will continue to raise its voice until action is taken against those responsible.
